Senior Java / Kotlin Developer

Aspire Software is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team in Lebanon.

What you day will look like:

• Understand and analyse business requirements in the form of user stories and decompose them into appropriate software designs and associated development activities.
• Full stack development using Java and Kotlin, with some React.
• Develop and implement best practices to create clean, efficient and secure code throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with architects and Software Engineers within the team to understand requirements, analyse problems, and define technical solutions.
• Ability to confidently estimate work and identify risks.
• Write and perform automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Document code and technical design decisions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

Requirements

• 5+ Years experience with Java/Kotlin application development and common Java frameworks/ libraries (e.g., Springboot, Hibernate, JUnit).
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and best practices.
• Proven ability to work in an agile framework including story decomposition and estimation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong understanding of secure applications and GDPR obligations.

• Highly Advantageous
• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React).
• Experience of working with AWS services and DevOps methodologies and tooling.
• Proven ability in developing secure, scalable, and performant solutions for high volume enterprise systems.
• Passion for learning and staying current with the latest technologies.
• Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker.
