Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Hybrid – Barcelona

We are hiring at Aspire Software for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our growing team in Spain!

The CTO role will not only lead our technology strategy but will also be actively involved in hands-on technical work. This role requires deep involvement in code, system architecture, and the implementation of modern automation and DevOps practices. You will play a critical role in the transformation and innovation of our product portfolio.

What your day will look like:

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Directly engage in coding, system design, and problem-solving to drive technological excellence
• Technology Strategy and Modernization: Develop a comprehensive technology strategy while being deeply involved in the modernization of legacy systems, reducing technical debt
• DevOps and Automation: Implement and oversee modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code. Ensure efficient use of Git and other version control tools
• Product Usability and Innovation: Actively contribute to the enhancement of our products, focusing on intuitive user interfaces and cutting-edge functionalities
• Scalable and Secure Solutions: Architect and build scalable, secure technology solutions with hands-on involvement in cloud technologies and security best practices
• Agile and Lean Practices: Foster an agile and lean culture within the technology team, promoting rapid iteration and customer-centric development
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Direct involvement in managing and optimizing cloud resources for performance and cost-effectiveness
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain hands-on involvement in ensuring high software quality, security standards, and regulatory compliance
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, providing technical insights and solutions to meet customer needs
• Team Development and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and upskill the technology team, directly involved in talent development and knowledge sharing

About You:

• At least a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years in software development, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role with hands-on involvement in software development
• Strong technical background in diverse technology stacks, especially .NET, PHP, VB6, SQL Server, and MariaDB
• Extensive experience in modernizing legacy systems and in complex software platform integrations
• Expertise in Git, modern DevOps practices, CI/CD automation tools, and cloud technologies
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies with a focus on AI-driven development processes
• Ability to lead AI initiatives and drive the adoption of AI technologies across the organization
• Proven ability to deliver user-centric technology solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively at a professional level, is essential
• Legally authorized to work in Spain
