Futura SI is looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join our team!

About the team:

The “Professional Services Team” is increasingly becoming a crucial department within the company. It consists of the area coordinator (who organizes the work), the technicians who work on data migration from other databases (and, secondarily, prints and software customization), and the consultants who do training at the customer, often following data-import. In an effort to increase the number of new customers, who usually want to import data from their old software, an additional employee is needed to join the team.

At Futura SI, we have been developing ERP solutions for heating and air conditioning maintenance and installation companies for more than 25 years. Currently, we are creating our next generation of ERP.

After an initial coaching period in the office, we consider remote working most of the time, with sporadic office visits to stay aligned with the whole team and the company.

Overview of the role and the requirements:

• Migration of databases from other software to ours (Microsoft SQL Server-based).
• Working on small customizations requested by the customer.
• Experience, passion, and knowledge in database programming.
• Deep knowledge of SQL language (MSSQL Server dialect preferably): usually, conversions are made from certain software for which we already have quite defined procedures, but also from other databases (e.g. SQL-based, text-based, Access, Excel), which are to be analyzed and converted from time to time to our MSSQL Database format.
• General programming ability to write migration scripts if needed (C# preferred).
• Ability to coordinate with the area manager to best define data conversion specifications.
• Fluent in Italian with a medium to good understanding of and proficiency in English speech.
